Combines longitudinal axis of basilica with a centralized plan. On a smaller scale is a square plan with four crosslike arms that terminate in rectangles or apses. The large rectangular blan is bounded by piers with pendentives. The pendentives support the massive and dominant central dome. the dome covers a square space with smaller apses and niches at the end. Forty window piers the dome.
